JACK - You must give us something for the milk that we lost.

WIND - Very well. Take this magic gingerbread. You may cut off as many pieces as you want. There will always be more left to eat.

NARRATOR 2 - So Jack took the magic gingerbread and left. It was a long way back home so he stopped at a farmhouse.

JACK - Kind sir, I have come a long way. Can I stay here for the night?.

FARMER - Yes, you may. Come in, boy.

NARRATOR 1 - The farmer was a bad man. He saw Jack cut pieces from the magic gingerbread. He saw that there was always more to eat.

FARMER - That gingerbread must be magic. I want that gingerbread for myself. While the boy is asleep I will take it and leave him one that is not magic.

When the farmer saw that the pot was magic, he wanted it.

FARMER - I must have that pot. When the boy is sleeping I will take it and leave another pot in its place.

NARRATOR 2 - When Jack got home, he found that the pot was not magic.

JACK - Now the soup is gone too. I will have to go to the North Wind again.
