New Brunswick is surrounded by water on two sides. The province is made up of a mainland and islands. The largest city is Saint John. Other cities include Fredericton (the capital city) and Moncton.

There are dairy farms and chicken farms. Fruits and vegetable are grown here. The province is best known for growing potatoes. The Saint John River Valley is called "the potato belt".


Lobster, shrimp, snow crab, scallops and many different kinds of fish are caught off the coast. Harbours and fishing towns are scattered along the coast.

It is mountainous in the northern part of New Brunswick. About 85 percent of the province is covered with forests. The main industry is forestry.
