Quebec, the largest province in Canada, is a french-speaking province.
Many places have French names. The largest city is Montreal.
The northern part of Quebec is in the Arctic where only small trees and lichens grow. Most of the people live in southern Quebec along the St. Lawrence River.

The St. Lawrence Seaway allows ships to sail in to the Great Lakes.  a coastal village on the Gaspe peninsula Quebec's landscape includes the Laurentian mountains, forests, rocky areas, and countless rivers, streams and lakes. Producing hydro-electricity, mining and lumbering are important industries.  the Gatineau River
