Quebec, the largest province in Canada, is a french-speaking province. Many places have French names. The largest city is Montreal.

The northern part of Quebec is in the Arctic where only small trees and lichens grow.

Most of the people live in southern Quebec along the St. Lawrence River.

Quebec City is the capital city of this province. It is the only walled city north of Mexico. Some of the buildings are over 300 years old. There are many historical sites in Quebec City.

The St. Lawrence River links Quebec to the Atlantic Ocean. The St. Lawrence Seaway allows ships to sail in to the Great Lakes.

Quebec's landscape includes the Laurentian mountains, forests, rocky areas, and countless rivers, streams and lakes. Producing hydro-electricity, mining and lumbering are important industries.
